Call for Visiting Professor (01/2023)

The Graduate Program in Biological Oceanography announces the opening of a simplified call for the hiring of a Visiting Professor in the area of biological oceanography. Candidates must have a profile of working in one of the research lines below:

Marine microorganisms and their influence on ecological and biogeochemical processes (focused on the study of marine microorganisms - bacteria, archaea, fungi and viruses - as mediators of fundamental ecological functions, such as decomposition and cycling of organic matter and nutrient transformation, primary and secondary production, as well as biological interactions between these and other organisms).

Application of "omics" tools (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics) to the study of marine biodiversity (focused on the use of molecular tools in studies on the evolutionary history and phylogenetic relationships, patterns of geographic distribution, and diversification of species, and also in studies related to functional molecular aspects and marine biotechnology).

The following documents are required for registration: 1 - Aplication form (or Letter of Intent) signed and adressed  to the Institute of Oceanography FURG; 2 - Copy of the doctoral diploma; 3 - Copy of personal identification document (RG, for Brazilians) or passport (for foreigners); 4 - Curriculum Vitae (Lattes model for Brazilians); 5 - Work Plan, containing the activities to be developed, including research activities, orientation, disciplines to be taught in Graduate and Undergraduate courses.

For Brazilian candidates, the contract is for 1 year (renewable for a maximum of 1 more year), while for foreign candidates the initial contract will be for 2 years, renewable for another 2 years (totaling 4 years).

Remuneration: Up to R$ 22.835,72 (gross),  depending on the classification as adjunct, associate or full professor.
